Dear Parents and Guardians,

On Friday, November 2, 2007, St George's College will be having its annual Prize Giving exercise
All students should be in their form rooms at 7:45am for registration as usual. The ceremony will begin at 9:00am and school will be dismissed AT 12:00pm. Students who o not attend school on this day will be asked to present a letter explaining their absence, upon their return on Monday.

We regret that we are unable to have parents/guardians in attendance but space in the auditorium is limited. We have therefore been forced to invite parents/guardians of prize winners only.

Fifth and sixth form students will have regular scheduled classes but will also be dismisses at 12:00pm. Please ensure that your child is in school on Friday, November 2, 2007 as this exercise represents an important opportunity for motivating students to achieve excellence.

Your truly,
Margaret Campbell (Mrs.)
Principal

October 16, 2007

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Last week during the heavy rains, vehicular traffic was allowed access to the campus.  This was quite necessary but caused some traffic congestion.

To address this problem, on days when heavy rains force us to allow access to the campus before and/or after school, please note that a one-way system will be in effect.  Vehicles should enter at the Emmet Park Gate and exit at the North Street gate.

On days when there is no rain, regular traffic procedures remain in effect; entry is allowed at both gates in the morning before 7:00a.m.  The North Street gate becomes an exit only, from 7:00a.m. to 7:45 a.m., and the Emmet Park entrance closes at 7:45a.m.  After school there is no vehicular access to the campus.

Thank you for your cooperation as we try to make traffic flow safe and convenient.

Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam.

Yours truly,
Margaret Campbell (Mrs.)
Principal

October 5, 2007

Dear Parents/Guardians,
We would like to provide you with an update of your child/ward’s performance before the end of term.  As such, we will be preparing and distributing a mid-term report with an overall average of marks for homework, class work and tests.  We will be distributing reports later than planned, to allow teachers to have a greater volume of work to report on.

Reports will be distributed on Monday, October 29, 2007 not October 22, 2007 as calendared.  Reports will be given to your children/wards, so please ensure that you receive them.  Additionally, the Parent /Teacher’s Meeting scheduled for Wednesday, October 24, 2007 will take place instead on Wednesday, October 31, 2007.

Please note that the mid-term holiday this term will only be National Heroes Day, October 15, 2007.There will be a special HSA meeting on Wednesday, October 17 at 5:30p.m. for the election of executives for the new school year.  Please do not miss this important meeting.

Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam.

Yours truly,
Margaret Campbell (Mrs.)
Principal
